Weekly Glance of Awesomeness #8 admin | September 18th, 2008

Greetings to my fellow crowdSPRING comrades!
It’s that time of the week again: awesome time. I know you can hardly contain your excitement to see what I’ve collected while scouring our site to bring you all projects that may pique your interest. So here goes…

Glance #1: Fun Contest to Keep America Green Logo
The Award: $300
End Date: September 20th
The Breakdown: Nature Hills Nursery, an online plant retailer, will be running an annual contest targeted towards non-profits and community groups in the United States, and they need a logo! The Keep America Green contest will reward these groups for their greening efforts with gift certificates to provide more plants, flower bulbs, and trees for their neighborhood. They need crowdSPRING’s creatives to help them create a logo that captures the attention of do-gooders across the country. Help put those boy and girl scouts to work, and contribute your idea to this project!

Glance #2: StripSwap.com Logo
The Award: $200
End Date: September 21st
The Breakdown: Hold your horses, StripSwap.com isn’t as racy as it sounds! This new site aims to develop a community of web comic strip artists who can share and rate each others’ work on the site. They need a fun, comic-y (not Manga or Anime) character to be ambassador of their site and share some space in their logo. Illustrators – check out their creative brief, and see what kind of cat/bunny hybrid you can whip up!

Glance #3: Island Radio Station / Monthly Magazine Needs Logo
The Award: $150
End Date: September 24th
The Breakdown: One sign that crowdSPRING is reaching people all around the world: German speaking radio station/magazine publisher Megawelle posts a logo project on the site, all the way from Tenerife, an island in the Canary Islands. Megawelle, which translates into “mega wave,” wants a snazzy, new, and more modern logo that captures the island feel of this holiday destination while remaining professional. The logo will also be in their magazine, in case you ever find yourself looking at magazines in the Canary Islands and would like to think of crowdSPRING on holiday. Don’t worry, we’re thinking of you too!

Glance #4: Fancy Schmancy Personal Site for Developer
The Award: 2 Awards – $700 + $400
End Date: September 28th
The Breakdown: Buyer Shakaikai is a self-proclaimed developer extraordinaire and needs the right crowdSPRING creative extraordinaire to help design his personal site. Web designers take note: this isn’t your typical HTML / CSS / Javascript dog and pony show. The site will be coded using Flex, so the more dynamic and interactive, the better! Get crazy with the visuals, and don’t feel limited by the typical stuff.

There you have it for this week, folks. Tune in next week for more Glances of Awesomeness, and feel free to send me any leads!

Just a heads up, Ange: the Megawelle project ends on the 24th, not the 15th (my first thought was that it was strange to have a project listed with an ending date _before_ the post date, lol).

Thanks for the heads up, Fred! All is corrected now.
